Economic Impact
Another economic impact of “Virtual City Solution” is overall reduction of urban services costs. One of the direct benefits of data centre is sharing information of properties and owners data among all urban services organizations. According to studies which was carried out for this purpose, this information covers around 80% of data in all urban services organizations that consequently covers 80% of operational costs for data collection which requires a huge budget. Enormous reduction in these costs and elimination of the same problems in municipalities for archiving systems and site visits will result in efficient urban services organizations that can focus on their own special role and develop and enhance urban infrastructures with lower costs. Of course this reduction of services costs will result in reduction of production costs in all the urban areas and it strengthens the urban economy in all branches. Management of large systems inevitably requires computing facilities and from a certain point, integration of IT systems also will be a must. Separated systems of project management, accounting, properties management and urban planning can not continue as separate system in today growing cities and for managing all activities this information should be linked with each other and could be evaluated under one centralized system. This integration among island systems helps for better management of tax collection, management of municipality properties, overall maintenance or development projects costs. Also availability of up to date data facilitates setting new rules and policies for making a balance between urban management costs and municipality income. Another point is that when municipalities deliver services 50 times faster than before, they also earn 50 times faster than before and this can be considered as another economic impact for utility organizations and municipalities which will help agile actions and developments.
