First step in implementing “Safa Virtual City” is finding an understanding about existing IT solutions and strategies of organizations which are planning to adopt the solution. We analyze the gap between current IT assets and what "Safa Virtual City" requires. The analysis will include all aspects of IT solutions, from hardware to its software features, in the covering scope of “Safa Virtual City”. This GAP analysis includes following steps:
Existing Systems:
Since Safa Rayaneh's approach is to minimize the total cost of implementation, the basis of the gap analysis will be keeping existing systems, if possible, and integrating them into the whole solution, so that current users of the systems will not be forced to change their working environment that they got used to apply it for carrying out everyday tasks. The changes will take place in areas that inefficiencies are detected during analysis or where the connectivity to proposed infrastructure will not be possible without undergoing major changes.
Basic Software:
Necessary operating systems, database engines, GIS engines and other necessary tools and office packages should be available otherwise they will be added to the list of requirements.
Hardware and Network:
Availability of servers, network structure and available infrastructure for communication should satisfy system expectation. Also risks for hardware system, type of buildings and other related issues should be studied carefully.
