SARA
Virtual City is a GIS-based solution to be used by municipalities and other
organizations in city-wide public works. It is designed to automate and
facilitate processes of relationship and inquiries of citizens, executives, middle
managers and policy makers, as well as collecting and processing data.
SARA Virtual
City is a system that can
easily be employed in non-automated or semi-automated offices. It is built in a
way to be compatible with major GIS systems and database engines. This is
achieved by following OGC standards and developing "Safa SODAL". The objective
is eliminating the main concern of IT managers in adopting the solution and mitigating
the risk of migrating from existing solutions to a new one.
SARA Virtual
City is the new
orientation towards changing the system to a more attractive interface that
persuades people to accept it as a gateway to many governmental and public
services. It is a public and user-friendly GIS environment that lets the people
to find and get public services in a more convenient way and less hassle.
Competitive Advantages
SARA Virtual
City's component-based
architecture supports two types of data: traditional data which gets stored in
relational databases and support business application side, and map data which
is kept in map servers and covers visual part of the application. The system offers
a data center solution to converge all urban service to the same software
portal.
SARA Virtual
City provides more ease
of use and user attraction and lessens the cost of implementation,
customization and support, by following approaches listed below:
- Supporting both 3D and 2D environments to view
and work on map data, by employing proven collaborating software components
form Google,
Autodesk and others.
- Eliminating the need for acquiring and
migrating to potentially new databases, map engines and map viewers, and trying
to maximize system connectivity to legacy systems by following OGC standards
(Open GIS) and development of two key software components, called SODAL
and SODAL
Generator, to provide data access abstraction layer.
- Automating program development and support by
developing special tools, such as "Safa
Workflow", "Safa Rule
Engine" and "Safa Report
Generator" which enable system supporters to rapidly generate program
code and making any non-critical changes in the system, which means "easy
maintenance".
- Creating general purpose components that can be
used for development in any ERP project and system automation, like security
components (Safa Security
and Safa Event
Logger), archiving components (Safa Archive
and Safa
Document Organizer), AVL (Auto Vehicle Location) systems, SMS Server
and Mobile
MIS solutions for managers.
